This is an easy appetizer that tastes great and never fails to impress. Cook's Note: You can spread the cream cheese and top it with shrimp ahead of time. Simply cover and store in the refrigerator. At serving time, pour over the cocktail sauce and sprinkle with sliced green onions. Total Cost of Recipe: $5.95 or $0.75 per serving.
  • 1 (8 ounce) block of cream cheese, softened ($1.29)
  • 1 cup cooked small salad shrimp ($2.49)
  • 1 cup cocktail sauce ($0.75)
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced ($0.18)
  • butter crackers and celery for serving ($1.00 for half of a box of crackers and $0.24 for one-fourth of the ribs from a stalk of Celery cut into dipping sized pieces)
  1. Spread cream cheese in the bottom of a wide and shallow bowl or a deep dish.
  2. Top with shrimp.
  3. Pour cocktail sauce over shrimp.
  4. Sprinkle with sliced green onions.
  5. Serve with butter crackers and celery ribs cut into large slices for dipping.
  6. Use a table knife or spoon for serving.
