This is a very simple and savory shrimp dip that is quick to make, and always tastes delicious. A bowl of this dip, surrounded by corn chips is always appreciated by friends and family alike. This recipe was given to me by my friend, Valerie, when we worked together in the Los Angeles County Hospital system. She would bring this dip to potlucks, and everyone loved it. What I like best is that it’s so simple to make, and looks and tastes like it took much longer to prepare. The best part is that it only requires 4 ingredients that are easy to find at almost any store.

Shrimp Dip

This shrimp dip is simple and delicious. It can be made with fresh or drained cans shrimp and tastes equally delicious with either. Cook's Note: The green onion dip mix that is available in my local store is made to be mixed with 8 ounces of sour cream, not a full pint. Read the label on your onion dip. If your packet of dip mix says to mix it with 16 ounces, you will need to double the recipe or use only half of the packet of dip mix.
Ingredients
- ½ cup sour cream
- ½ block cream cheese softened
- 1 package of green onion dip mix
- ½ cup baby shrimp, or 1 (4 ounce can) medium shrimp, drained
Instructions
- Allow cream cheese to soften at room temperature.
- Mix sour cream, cream cheese, and green onion dip together until well mixed.
- Stir in the shrimp.
- Place into serving bowl, and garnish with shrimp and sliced green onions.
- Allow to chill for 1 -2 hours before serving to allow flavor to fully develop.
- Serve with corn chips, and/or celery stalks for dipping.
