Do you ever wonder what recipes other people are making? I do, but I might be weird. Since Patty Cakes Pantry just published it’s 500th post, we decided to delve deep into our site’s analytics to find out what our readers enjoy most. But fist, there’ something that I want to share with all of your about reaching this milestone.
Publishing 500 original posts on Patty Cake’s Pantry wasn’t an easy accomplishment. Publication of post number 500 was the result of hours of hard work, but I’m not complaining. I’m very happy to have achieved this milestone. It’s especially significant since I considered giving up a few times along the way.
Ordinarily, I would throw a party, but we’re in the middle of one of our weird challenges, so we made a different choice. Who wants to attend a party where the only food being served is gelatin desserts and salads? That’s not much of a party menu.
Instead of posting a party menu, we have decided to share the top five posts in the top four categories on our site from February 1, 2015 (when we added analytics) to April 10, 2019 (when we published our 500th post). We thought that this might be interesting for us to explore, and we thought that you, our readers, might enjoy seeing what other people are reading on our sight. We’ll finish up this post with a list of the top five recipes on our site without regard to their category. Who knows? You might discover something new to try.
Dessert
This is the category that’s in fourth place on our site. Personally, I’m surprised because to me, dessert is my favorite, but I guess people can’t eat only sweets. Here are the 5 most popular dessert recipes on our site.
5. Easy Southern Style Banana Pudding
4. m&m Cake Mix Cookies
3. Easy Nectarine Cobbler
2. Mango Graham Freezer Cake
1. A Warning about Popsicle Sticks
Technically, this isn’t a dessert, but it was the most popular post published in the dessert category. It’s important information if you make, or plan ot make, homemade popsicles.
Dinner
The Dinner category is in third position. I suppose it makes sense that this category ranked higher than the dessert category. After all, we eat dinner then dessert. Here are the five most popular recipes in the dinner category from Patty Cake’s Pantry.
5. Italian Sausage and Rice Casserole
4. Pressure Cooker Chicken Alfredo with Farfalle
3. Roasted Chicken Leg Quarters and Potatoes
2. Fried Cabbage with Ham
1. Roasted Bratwurst and Potatoes
Side Dish
The side dish category is in second place. It’s loaded with a wide variety of different side dishes that you can serve with your dinner. Here are the top five side dish recipes from Patty Cake’s Pantry.
5. Green Beans with Onions and Garlic

4. Spanish Rice with Corn

3. Slow Cooker Red Cabbage and Apples

2. Southwest Style Hominy Casserole
1. Roasted Baby Carrots
Cooking
Cooking may seem like a strange category to have on this blog, but when I started, I didn’t plan for Patty Cake’s Pantry to be exclusively a food blog, so there was a category for “cooking.” As a result, some of the recipes in this category are side dishes, desserts, and entrees. What were the top five?
5. “Baked” Potatoes from the Pressure Cooker

4. Glorified Rice
3. Navy Bean Pie
2. Pressure Cooker Ribs
1. Pressure Cooker Pinto Beans and Ham

These were the top five posts from the top four categories on our site, but there’s still one question that hasn’t been answered.
