Everyone wants to be able to serve delicious food for their friends during the big game, but no one wants to be tied to the stove. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I also don’t want to spend over $100 buying food for the gang, either. I’ve gathered a few of my favorite recipes for game day. None of these require intensive preparation. Two can be made ahead and cooked or reheated on the day of the big game. One can be made in the slow cooker with very little hands on time. Best of all, they are inexpensive to prepare.
Two ingredient party wings are a great recipe for Game Day. They can be made ahead of time and then be frozen. Let them thaw overnight in the fridge and pour them into the crockpot on low for 4 hours, and your guests can serve themselves. If you don’t want to have a crockpot, they can be placed into a foil or parchment lined baking dish that has been sprayed with non stick spray and reheated for 15-20 minutes at 375 degrees.
Three ingredient meatballs make a great choice for your game day buffet. The ingredients are added to the crock pot and allowed to simmer. They can be served as cocktail meatballs or arranged on bus as meatball subs. Our favorite way to prepare them is to place the meatballs onto dinner rolls as meatball sliders. However you serve them, they are a great choice for a game day menu.
These stuffed mushrooms made with cream cheese and breakfast sausage can be assembled the day before and baked once your guests arrive. They are a definite crowd pleaser.
All you need to add to the above recipes are some chips and salsa or chips and dip, a plate of fruit and cheese, and a veggie plate and you’ll have all you need to make sure that your Super Bowl Party is a success.
Have fun as you watch the big game. Thanks for visiting Patty Cake’s Pantry.
