I’m going to tell you a secret. This is a great way to make wings from scratch in the same time it takes you to reheat prepared frozen wings, and faster than the local pizza joint can deliver wings to your door. The best part is that this recipe only requires two ingredients. Actually, this may really be, on occasion, a three ingredient wing, but I only used two ingredients. They are so simple to make, and so delicious, that you may never buy prepared wings again.
All you need to make these Baker’s Man pleasing wings is raw wings and sauce. The procedure is very simple.
Make sure that your wings are fully thawed. Pat them dry with paper towels. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. A well seasoned cast iron skillet is a non stick pan. You don’t need to add any oil to the pan. The wings will release some of the fat in their skin as they cook.
Arrange the wings in a single layer on the bottom of your pan over medium heat. Allow to cook for 10 minutes undisturbed. At this point, they will be lightly browned. Flip them over and cook for another 10 minutes on the other side.
The next step can be done one of two ways. You can pour barbecue sauce over the wings while they are still in the pan and toss them around until well coated.
Some members of my household believe that they come out better if you remove the wings from the pan and place in a deep bowl before you cover them with your favorite barbecue sauce. I used homemade maple moonshine barbecue sauce, but any store bough sauce works well, too. If you want to make a more traditional buffalo wing, you will need to mix your sauce with some melted butter (that’s the exception that makes this a three ingredient wing). Since the wings aren’t fried in grease, they have less fat than those commercial wings, and the taste is just as satisfying.
There you have it, my secret recipe for two ingredient chicken wings. It’s hard to believe, but that’s all you need to do to make simple and delicious wings that are sure to please.
