Garlic and olive oil, along with Parmesan cheese combine in this simple and delicious pasta dish that's great on its own or as an accompaniment to your favorite meat entree
Ingredients
  • 1 pounds of spaghetti
  • ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 - 6 cloves of garlic, finely chopped or minced
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup freshly chopped parsley
Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente.
  3. When pasta is nearly cooked, heat oil in large, deep skillet.
  4. Add garlic and red pepper flakes to oil and saute until garlic is translucent.
  5. Drain pasta, reserving ½ to 1 cup of pasta cooking water.
  6. Place pasta in a large, heat safe serving dish.
  7. Drizzle oil, garlic, and pepper mixture over pasta along with ½ cup reserved cooking water. Toss well to combine.
  8. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and parsley, and toss well to combine, adding more pasta cooking water as needed to create a creamy sauce.
  9. Serve with additional Parmesan cheese.
