Pork Chops are topped with apples which are seasoned with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg for a simple and delicious dinner entree that's loaded with flavor. The total cost for this recipe is $9.80 or $1.40 per serving.
  • ½ cup apple juice ($0.10)
  • 7 Boneless Pork Chops ($7.98)
  • salt and pepper to taste ($0.04)
  • 6 granny smith (or other tart) apples, peeled and chopped ($1.12)
  • ⅓ cup packed brown sugar ($0.15)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon ($0.06)
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg ($0.03)
  • ¼ cup butter, cut into small pieces ($0.32)
  1. Marinate pork chops in apple juice for at least 30 minutes (Can marinate longer. I pour the juice over the top of mine, and allow them to soak while I cut up the apples. I also flip them over at some point to ensure both sides were immersed in the apple juice.)
  2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  3. Remove pork chops from juice and pat dry.
  4. Sprinkle liberally with salt and pepper
  5. Arrange Pork in the bottom of a prepared baking dish. (Spray with non stick spray, rub with butter, or do what they do at living on a dime and grease the pan with bacon grease)
  6. Arrange apple pieces on top of the pork chops.
  7. Mix cinnamon and nutmeg with the brown sugar.
  8. Sprinkle on top of the apples and pork chops.
  9. Cut the butter into thin slices and arrange evenly on top of the brown sugar.
  10. Cover pan with foil and bake at 375 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes, or until the pork shops are done.
  11. Your house will smell heavenly.
