Candied Carrots

Frozen carrots are cooked a mixture of butter and brown sugar to glaze them and make a delicious side dish your family will love. This can be made with fresh carrots, but you will need to first steam the carrots for 5 to 10 minutes in order to soften them.
  • 1 pound frozen sliced carrots
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ⅛ teaspoon kosher or coarse sea salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon pepper
  1. Melt butter and brown sugar in sauce pan over medium to low heat.
  2. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Add frozen carrots to pan and stir until well coated.
  4. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  5. Cover pan and allow to cook for 10 minutes stirring occasionally until carrots are heated through.
  6. The frozen carrots will release quite a bit of liquid as they thaw.
  7. Once heated, serve with liquid spooned on top.
