Black eyed peas are combined with chopped vegetables, prepared salad dressings, and some Louisiana hot sauce to make a delicious and refreshing salad that's sure to be a hit at your next barbecue.
  • ¼ cup diced red onion
  • ¼ cup finely chopped bell pepper
  • ½ cup finely chopped celery (about 1 stalk)
  • ¾ cup chopped cucumber (about 1 small)
  • ¾ cup finely chopped tomato (about 1 medium)
  • 1 (15 ounce) can black eyed peas, rinsed and drained
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 dashes Louisiana hot sauce
  • ½ cup Zesty Italian salad dressing (or make your own)
  1. Prepare vegetables and place in a bowl
  2. Add black eyed peas, black pepper, Italian dressing, and Louisiana hot sauce to the bowl with the vegetables.
  3. Mix well and chill for two hours before serving.
