  • 8 serving size package of instant, creamy potato soup ($3.59)
  • 3 (6.5 oz) cans of chopped clams ($3.00)
  • 2 stalks celery ($0.24)
  • 2 tablespoons butter ($0.19)
  • 8 cups combined water and clam juice (or the correct amount of liquid for the brand of soup you are using.
  1. Sautee Celery in Butter over medium heat until celery becomes tender.
  2. Drain and reserve liquid from clams
  3. Add enough water to clam juice to provide the amount of liquid called for in the recipe
  4. Add water and clam juice
  5. Bring liquid and celery mixture to a boil
  6. Whisk in soup mix until thoroughly incorporated
  7. Add clams
  8. Bring to a boil again.
  9. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes
