You’re probably thinking “Food Storage Fudge? Is Patti Cake Crazy? You may be right. I may be crazy, but Food Storage Fudge may be just what you’re looking for. (Did anyone catch what I did there?) Each of these recipes can be prepared using shelf stable ingredients. That’s why I’m calling this post “Food Storage Fudge.”
I realize that it may seem wrong to include a selection of candy recipes in a series of posts that’s supposed to help you eat from the pantry and stay out of the store. The thing is, I believe that Food Storage Fudge will help you stay out of the store. Sweet treats are, in my opinion, comfort foods. Right now, we could all use some comfort. What if you get a craving for chocolate, and the kids ate the last candy bar? Don’t worry. These simple recipes have got you covered.
If you happened to pick up sweetened condensed milk and have chocolate, butterscotch, or peanut butter chips on hand, you have practically everything you need to whip up some Five Minute Fudge that will impress your family.
Here are the fudge recipes that we’ve published on Patty Cake’s Pantry:
Each of these recipes has instructions for preparing them using a microwave, but the chocolate (or other flavor) chips can be melted with the sweetened condensed milk in a double boiler on the stove.
I refer to this recipe as my “Christmas Fudge” because of the cranberries and pecans. If you don’t have orange essential oil, you can use 1/2 teaspoon of orange, lemon, or vanilla extract.
I love the combination of chocolate, marshmallows, and nuts. This Rocky Road Fudge is amazing, and it’s one of my favorites.
This is our original fudge recipe that’s quick and easy which is a good thing in our opinion.
We love these fudge recipes because they’re so simple. The basic recipe is very versatile, too. Switch out the flavor or chips, change the things you stir in, and you have a very different fudge. We love these and we know you’ll love them, too.
