Usually, I don’t review products on Patty Cake’s Pantry, but since we’re in the middle of grilling season, I decided to share. I have found a product that I really love. That product is McCormick’s Grill Mates Marinade. This post is NOT sponsored. This is just a product that I’ve found that I really enjoy, so I wanted to share it with you, my readers.
I don’t know how things work in your household, but at Patty Cake’s Pantry, I am the one who has to marinate the meat, or mix up the dry rub and spread it on the meat on grilling day. Baker’s man is the one who tames the flame and cooks the meat. He’s the one who gets all of the glory. It’s just not fair. I’m the one who was slaving away, carefully concocting a delicious marinade for the meat, but he gets the praise.
I really don’t mind, most of the time, but occasionally, I feel really stressed out when we’re having company because I’m the one who has to make all of the sides, and salads in addition to creating the prefect marinade. On those occasions, I like to cheat. My favorite cheat is to use Grill Mates Marinade Mix.
What do I like about McCormick’s Grill Mates Marinades?
- They already contain all of the spices that I need for my marinade, so there’s no digging through the cabinets for just the right ingredient.
- All I have to do is add water, oil, and in some cases vinegar, or orange juice, to have a delicious marinade.
- They are economical. I can purchase a packet of Grill Mates Marinade for $0.88 per package at my local grocery store.
- Each packet makes enough marinade for two pounds of meat.
- The final product has always been delicious.
I haven’t tried all of the flavors, but the ones that I’ve tried have all been delicious. I tend to allow chicken or beef to marinate for at least two hours before grilling or broiling to allow the flavor to fully penetrate the meat. Fish requires a much shorter marinating time.
I really love McCormick’s Grill Mates Marinades. They’re a simple way to make sure that our grilled meat is always delicious. Since each packet makes enough for two pounds of meat, we always have leftovers that we can transform into something different on another day (if we’re just feeding our family).
I have used leftover grilled chicken to make grilled chicken sandwiches, or grilled chicken salads, but one of my favorite, easy, dinner to make with the leftover chicken is to transform them into grilled chicken fajitas. Because the meat is so flavorful, the fajitas made from the leftover meat are always some of the best fajitas that I’ve ever made. It’s fast, too. All I have to do is reheat the chicken in the pan with the peppers and onions as they are sauteing in a little bit of oil. It always turns out perfect.
If you’ve never tried McCormick’s Grill Mates Marinade, I encourage you to pick up a packet at your local grocery store, and give it a try. You’ll be glad you did.
Have you ever used any of the Grill Mates Marinades? What were your favorite flavors? We really loved the Smokin Sweet Tea, but they seem to have discontinued it. I think Baja Citrus is amazing, too. Let us know your opinions by leaving a comment below.
