  • 1/4 cup butter (or margarine ($0.38)
  • 4 cups miniature marshmallows ($0.59)
  • 5 cups crispy rice cereal ($0.62)


  • Melt butter in a large sauce pan over low to medium heat.
  • Add marshmallows to pan with melted butter and stir constantly until melted.
  • Add crispy rice cereal to the pot with the melted marshmallows and fold them into the melted marshmallow mixture.
  • Continue stirring until the marshmallow mixture is coating all of the cereal.
  • Pour, or scoop, the marshmallow coated cereal into a greased 9X13 inch pan and spread it out to the edges.
  • Using a piece of wax paper between your hand and the coated crispy rice, press it down into the pan, ensuring that it's evenly distributed.
  • If you want to add sprinkles to the top, this is the point to do that, pressing gently to ensure they're adhered to the top.
  • Allow to rest for at least 20 minutes before cutting into squares.
